Places change so quickly considering environmental factors, modernization and technological advances, it's hard to remember a country almost untouched-- free of advertisements, glitz and junk.
Take a look at what was and what is today. You decide; is the place better now, or worse? Was it worse back then, or better?
In any case, I'll draw my own conclusions about the places I visit and document my findings.
Enjoy and Bless,

I believe that the world is indefinitely the same. I'm neutral on this because well, I can't speak for a time I wasn't present, and I can't predict an outcome I don't know. Quite frankly, I enjoy being the middle ground in any conversation. It's just a hard place to balance.
ReplyDeleteAs Michel Foucault would say, if you know an ending to a story, would you still write it anyway?

I think the world is still the same; there is just more in it. Granted life was simpler 10-20 years ago, but when you think about it, if the advertisements, glitz, and junk we have today were available back then, the world would be just like it is today back then. The world is simply adapting to more convenient and easier ways for mankind to flourish. So, I think the world is just the same as it was earlier, if not better.
ReplyDeleteWhether the world is a better place then or today is a matter of perspective. If one looks at the overall beauty of an untouched land before settlement, then they may feel as though it was better in the past. However, one could argue that today is a better place due to advances in technology which provides better health care and advances in transportation. As for my own views, I think there are positives and negatives to all eras. The importance is to be thankful for what we do have and make the best of it.
